Volunteer | September 22
Avenue Art Days will culminate this year on September 22, in parallel with the also wildly popular Open Streets ICT on Douglas Avenue when thousands of Wichitans flood the street to walk or bike and see our artists at work. These volunteer opportunities are for individuals to proudly show their support of local arts, community engagement, and civic pride. Volunteers will help distribute mural maps, promote the mobile mural app available for download, share the mural title and artist, direct people where to help with the community mural, host a meet-the-artist Artist Spotlight, and accept donations.
Two shifts available:
30 opportunities available per shift.
Each year the Douglas Design District hosts a three-day public art event, working with local artists and businesses to bring art to the District! Since 2015 there have been over 60 mural installations along the Avenue. This year we will be installing even more murals with a celebration on Sunday to meet the artists and see the murals getting their final touches.
